Katherine is a main character in Homescapes and one of Austin's best friends. She is a botanist and floral expert by trade. Katherine appears in Gardenscapes for a few events.

Pleasant, romantic Katherine is Austin's childhood friend. The two lived on the same street, which is why their mothers, Olivia and Stephanie, were close friends. The kids just followed suit.

Katherine is a bit younger than Austin: when he started his studies at the Institute of Modern Butlers, Katherine was still in high school. They didn't see each other for many years, and when Austin returned home, he met a totally different Katherine who was somehow still the same.

She has always been into plants, and especially flowers, so it’s no wonder she became a florist.

Her father was a geologist and polar explorer, spending much of his time away from home. Young Katherine would spend all her summer holidays with him at the scientific station. Her dad couldn't live without his minerals, while Katherine was fascinated by plants.

She treats people with patience and kindness too.

• It's never stated, but fairly obvious, that Katherine and Austin have romantic feelings for each other. Olivia, Austin's mother, tells Austin to ask Katherine out and Austin immediately blushes.
• Katherine is an adept seamstress, a good cook, and has some talents as a teacher.
• She knows Latin, as she translates a Latin cookbook belonging to Austin's grandmother.
• According to Austin, she's a few years younger than him. During a conversation between her, Austin and Patrick, she states that she graduated from the college not too long ago, which would mean that she's in her mid 20's.
